Former President George W. Bush:

When Former President George W. Bush was Governor of Texas, he endorsed the alternative licensure process when he wrote in his classic book, A Charge To Keep... "I realize that many religious institutions fear involvement with government, because they fear it will compromise their core values and spiritual mission. That's the reason I support alternative licensing, so effective efforts aren't buried or compromised by government regulations." Later, when he became President of the United States of America, this "philosophy of helps" was endorsed and established under the Faith-Based Initiative.

Board Certification

Vocations of some students who utilize their Board Certification as Counselors include:

The American Institute for Christian Education (ICE) has already provided training to hundreds of students that minister in the following ways who are Board Certified Christian Counselors: 
     (1) Prison Ministry Volunteers 
     (2) Chaplains
     (3) Parole Officers
     (4) Probation Officers 
     (5) Law Enforcement  Officers
     (6) Emergency Service Personnel
     (7) School Counselors 
     (8) Pastors and Staff

Board Certification: What does "Board Certification" mean?
*Students have met program established standards.
*Students have met and agrees to a Standard Code of Ethics.
*Students have professional certification for long term stability and growth.
The Board Certification is "religious in nature and not subject to licensure or regulation by the State of Texas. It provides non-medical treatment and recovery methods such as prayer, moral guidance, spiritual counseling, and scriptural study". Why Certification?

Certification by a well-respected and credentialed entity inspires confidence in the quality of ministry provided. The credentials validate a person's commitment to education in ministry. The board certification will increase confidence in the counselor's counseling abilities. Futhermore, board certification maintains a level of accountability to the church, state and client.

Board Certified:

The biblically based curriculum has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Christain Institute for Counselor Certification, Inc. as "Board Certified". This recognition appears on the Faith-Based Christian Counselor's CERTIFICATE. The Board Certified Christian Counselor recognition brings a dimension of professionalism and creates accountability to the church, state and the client. Additionally, "Board Certified" builds public trust in Faith-Based Christian Counseling Services offered by the local church --- THE CHRISTIAN COUNSELING CENTER.
